It begins with a detailed discussion about your history, including your pregnancy, delivery, and the recovery process so far. We explore your main concerns, such as pain, mobility, or functional challenges, as well as your previous exercise habits and the activities you aim to resume. Factors like past surgeries, scar healing, breastfeeding, and overall health are also considered. Additionally, we ask about how you are feeling emotionally, mentally, and physically during this recovery phase, ensuring your well-being is fully supported. We also screen for signs of pelvic floor dysfunction by asking about your bladder and bowel function and any aches or pains you may be experiencing.

What to expect

The physical assessment is thorough, starting with observations of your posture and movement patterns to identify imbalances or compensations. Your lower back, hips, and abdominal region are screened for tension, discomfort, or weakness, and functional movements such as squats, sit-to-stands, lunges, and bed transfers are evaluated.
